24pt GATS Block Wave

The Prototype Press is excited to introduce a new 21st century typeface for hand composition. 24pt GATS Block Wave is an original type design from the renowned graffiti artist GATS @gatsptv . After years of experimenting with using in-house CNC routers to carve brass matrices, it was high time to try creating a full typeface. 50 different characters are included in this 5A font, including a peace, vegan & anarchist symbol, as well as punctuation and figures. Each piece of type is hand finished on a Ludlow Supersurfacer to ensure consistent and clean printing results.

This is a very limited edition casting. Only 25 fonts for sale have been made. Although the matrices are safely stored by the press, there are no plans to recast in the near future.

An eight color letterpressed type specimen will ship with each package of type. Type specimens are also available to purchase separately.
